If you aren’t the biggest reader, or simply don’t have time to read anymore (guilty) Podcasts are a lifesaver! They also make for a great way to spend your time on the subway when you get tired of your same old playlists. Of course there are hundreds of Podcasts out there, but if you are looking for one that center around well being and self care, you should definitely consider these!

1) From The Heart

Rachel Brathen, is a well known yoga teacher, speaker, author, and entrepreneur. *whew* and I thought I had a lot on my plate!  This podcast offers unique, intimate look into her life. She has weekly shows that explore a wide variety of topics such as: love, trust, balance, and overcoming challenges. Most of all, Rachel teaches the important of well being and how you can make yourself your top priority.

2) Ted Talks Daily Podcast

Chances are, you have listened to a Ted Talk at least once before! They are a huge hit on YouTube and across college campuses, but did you know they also have a daily podcast? They cover a wide array of topics, so you are bound to find something that interests you. Some of my personal favorites are: Get Comfortable with Being Uncomfortable, How to Build (And Rebuild) Trust, and How I Turn Negative Online Comments into Positive Offline Conversations

3) She Explores: Women in the Outdoors

This may seem like a strange recommendation coming from a New Yorker, but I promise you this Podcast is amazing. It helped remind me that there is something beyond the borders of Manhattan. I love the city, but perhaps you have to escape the concrete jungle for the forests that surround it. I find that a lot of people find peace and tranquility in nature, so if you are struggling to find your balance, give this Podcast a go!

4) Almost 30

“It’s real. It’s raw. It’s unfiltered.” and it is great. I think this is one of the best Podcasts out there for anyone who is going through a transition and especially if that transition has to do with age. Their talks focus on 4 topics: health & wellness, spirituality, self-development, and entrepreneurship. It is quite honestly my favorite Podcast on this list.

5) The Chasing Joy Podcast

This is a true wellness focused Podcast. Every episode centers around some aspect of wellness and features guests who are experts in the field. Georgie Morley, the narrator, also has a blog that focuses on wellness, so you can ensure she knows her stuff. With over 70 episodes, The Chasing Joy Podcast will keep you entertained throughout every morning and evening commute.

6) That’s So Maven

Davida is the narrator of That’s So Maven, and produces excellent content! Every episode focuses on a new guest and how health and wellness fit into their life. Davida has over 60 interviews with individuals who are truly inspirational. Furthermore, she interviews both men and women so this is a very gender neutral Podcast!

7) Dear Sugars

I can’t begin to express how much this series has done for me. I think that this Podcast stands out from the rest because it explores specific topics that everyone thinks about but not necessarily talks about. Call it taboo or socially unacceptable to do so, but we all have questions, so why not get some answers? My favorite episodes are: Rapid Fire: Lovers and Friends & Love and Money.
